ID selfie is an image taken by holding an identification document such as a driver's license and capturing it on the same screen as the entire face. We ask you to submit this image in order to confirm that the application is from the person himself/herself when you apply for account opening procedures or make various inquiries.

In addition, when making various inquiries, we may ask you to prepare a note stating the date of the photo and "Coincheck" and to provide an image of yourself and your identification document.

Tips for taking ID selfies

• Please take the photo in a bright place.
  • Please be careful of light reflections (e.g., white-out) on the identification documents.
  • If you are wearing glasses, please be careful of light reflections.
• It is easier to bring the document into focus if it is placed as close to your face as possible.
• Please refer to the following image for the positional relationship between the document and your face.

Points to keep in mind when taking ID selfies

• Are the contents of the documents hidden by the fingers or other parts of the fingers holding the documents?
• Are any parts of your face (mouth, etc.) obscured by your identification documents?
• Can you clearly see the contents of the document and the picture of your face on the document?
• Please refrain from watermarking text or otherwise altering the image.
• Are there any persons other than the applicant in the photo?
• Please refrain from wearing sunglasses, masks, earphones, etc.

If you are requested to submit the information at the time of inquiry, please send us your ID selfie taken according to the instructions from us.

• If the request for submission is in the e-mail sent by Coincheck, please reply to us by attaching it to the e-mail sent to you.
• If the “ファイル選択” button is displayed on the inquiry form, please click the button, select the image, and submit your inquiry.
